Exhibit Media Experience Developer

Are you looking for something unique? The Pacific Science Center is looking for an Exhibit Media Experience Developer to complete the development of electronic and media interactives for the Wellness Exhibit. Based on existing scripts and outlines, this position works with software developers and media producers to create the final exhibit experiences. The completed media experiences must meet the learning objectives and specific goals of the exhibit plans and must have outstanding educational value.

Job Duties
You will work with the external fabrication partner to translate the written records for all digital and electronic exhibits into a final product; this will include:
o revising and finalizing narratives
o working with the fabricator to develop storyboards and timelines
o working with the Exhibits Project Manager and the fabricator to develop prototyping schedules
o working with the internal evaluator to test prototypes with the public and record feedback for the fabricator
o Providing feedback on artistic and interactive decisions made by the fabricator during the development process
Research and acquire images/media for specified exhibits; this includes:
o Researching, identifying stock video and image vendors that meet budget and content needs.
o Identifying and acquiring stock footage that fits thematically into each exhibit where media is needed
o Work with the internal exhibit development team to review and revise all footage during various planned feedback periods.
o Fulfill acquisition requirements and document licensing/permissions procedures
Collaborate with the Exhibit Development staff on content and artistic development of exhibit video montages.
Collaborate with Exhibit Development staff and Marketing staff to find and interview members of the public that would like to share stories that meet the requirements of specific exhibit narrative needs.
Work with outside creative media sub-contractor and coordinate communication, video shoot schedule, editing and production of exhibit videos.
Shoot and edit video interviews with members of the public as needed.
Collaborate with the Exhibit Development team to identify and procure artifacts/environmental objects for the exhibit.

Experience and Education
Required
• Bachelors Degree
• Excellent writing and problem solving skills
• Museum and/or experience with hands-on interactive development
• Content writing for media experiences
• Experience conducting image and media asset research through public domain and stock sources; understanding of licensing/permissions and digital media formats needed by exhibit design and interactive media production teams
Desired
• Solid experience editing digital video and audio
• Experience shooting
• Experience using Mac OS X and Windows 7
• Experience using Apple and Adobe software tools, including Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects or Apple Motion, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
• Valid WA State driver’s license

Guest Services Admissions Representative (Part Time, Temporary)

Reports To: Guest Services Admissions Supervisor
Position Start Date: ASAP
Job Status: Part Time, Temporary
Job Duration: ASAP through early January 2012
Compensation: $9.50/hour + Commissions

Job Duties:
• Customer Service: Provide for a pleasurable experience for PSC patrons by
• greeting them at the facility entrances
• processing transactions in a quick, efficient, and helpful manner
• Proactively responding to individual needs with a positive attitude in the ticket booths
• Financial Integrity: Provides for the accurate tracking of PSC assets by performing general cashiering, ticket and membership sales in accordance with PSC procedures.
• Operational Support: Contribute to overall operational functions by lending support and assistance to the Supervisor, Coordinators, and Leads, promptly informing Coordinators and Leads of security, first aid, lost person, and lost item situations, and promptly informing other departments, such as Facilities, Exhibits, and Custodial, of malfunctions, damage, or mess.
• Asset Supervision: Contribute to the maintenance of valuable PSC assets by guarding against the theft or damage of PSC exhibits and property, and promptly reporting any malfunctions relating to exhibits or the facility.
• Other duties as assigned.

Other Job Considerations:
• PSC uniform must be worn at all times
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evening, and holiday
• Attend mandatory monthly meetings
• Required to assist during emergency and evacuation situations.

Education and Experience:
Required
• High school diploma or equivalent

• Background in science, education, communications
• Previous customer service experience
